So Close

Posted on October 12th, 2014

We’ve got a test environment up-and-running, but still have some snags to resolve. Happy for anyone to try, and provide feedback though :) Our snags involve the slider to set the value and volume of tibs, not sliding. If you click on the value or volume it’s fine, but it doesn’t slide if you drag it  (yet).

So . . . you can test how to tib a website, and register with tibdit using ‘magic’ money  . . . don’t get excited, it’s not real money (sorry).

The test site can be found at demo.tibdit.com.

We’re working hard, and late into the night; just as well the view from the office window is good, you can see the Shard and London Eye all lit up.

Well, it won’t be long now till making micropayments online is a reality, and we hope we make you proud @Clay Shirky.

Best wishes

‘May’ the force be with us

Posted on May 2nd, 2014

Interesting week; the tibdit trademark certificate arrived, so it’s official. We met up with @rasajustionyte, who wrote a fantastic article about micropayments. She’s refreshingly passionate about her work and it shows in her journalism. We met with @DimitryGulanov from @Cryptopay to discuss how we could work with eachother, thanks Dimitry. We went to the @Coinscrum mini bar event and presented our business to a great audience and also caught up with some of our friends and colleagues in the bitcoin world; good to see you again @Sian Jones and Dimitry. Development of the ‘button’ continues and we’re exploring options for seed funding. Next steps include searching for the right ‘tibbers’ and ‘tibbees’ to commence a small pilot.

More progress

We’ve continued to develop the website and the demos still need some work and polishing, but you can try them and see what you think. We’d be pleased to receive any feedback to make sure we give people what they want. Had a good week and @Jim Smith did some sterling work, and our blogs are now live on the website. Development contniues next week and we’re looking forward to meeting a VC and pitching at Coinscrum over the next couple of weeks.

It’s been a productive couple of weeks, with more activities ahead to increase our visibilty.

We attended a variety of events during the FinTech 2014 week in London, including the VIP party where we met some really interesting people; @Martin Szyollo and @Will Kirby . Many thanks to Luis Carranza who did a phenomenal job arranging and facilitating the events across the entire week.

We pitched at the event on 25th March, which was well-received, and as a result of which we were invited to pitch at the Startupbootcamp FinTech Pitch day on 8 April at the Rainmaking Loft.
At the FinTech Future Funding: Mini-Conference, we heard some great debates, presentations, start-up demos and pitches. special thanks to Daniel Tenner (Grant Tree) and Barry Shrier (Liquity).
We have also been asked to apply for the MassChallenge Accelerator in Boston.
We are now in a position to explore options for seed funding, including Angel investors. And we are actively pursuing partners for payment processing and small scale online media for our pilot launch.

Keep watching

Progress hasn’t been as good as we would have liked, but we’re just crossing the ‘t’s and dotting the ‘i’s of our investment paperwork. We’ve had a load of hits on the website (thanks) from all over the world; not least Australia, Morocco, Japan and Singapore. We’re confident in our product and hope it helps you guys out there.

We received a commercial reference from @Launch48 (thankyou) and have been in touch with a number of great people that are helping us. Check out the website, it’s improving daily.

November progress

Posted on December 1st, 2013

Hi All

We’ve had a really busy month. The wireframes for the prototype are nearly there. We have the last @launchpad48 event on Tuesday, and it’s been a great learning curve with lots of useful contacts. You know who you are, and we’ll definitely be in touch, if we haven’t been already. On Thursday, the inimitable Justin will pitch our idea after weeks of mentoring. We have meetings lined up with potential partners and payment providers, and hope to be ready to pitch for crowd funding via #Crowdcube in the next few weeks, thanks all. Don’t go away, there’s more after the break - - - - [email protected].
